Digital Transformation – Maruti Suzuki True Value

Overview

The largest passenger car manufacturer in India, Maruti Suzuki, wanted to revive the pre-owned cars segment of their business known as True-Value. Although Maruti Suzuki is the market leader in India with 50% market share, True Value's market share was less than 5% owing to competition from online aggregators with superior digital infrastructure.

Solution

Despite having the largest inventory of used cars in the country, the entire process from procurement to sales was paper-based and being operated by over 300 dealerships with thousands of branches across the country. The solution was to digitize the entire process by creation of:

  1. Car inspection and evaluation app
  2. Car re-evaluation app
  3. Official Website
  4. Consumer Apps (iOS & Android)
  5. Dealer App
  6. CRM

Impact

  • Maruti Suzuki True Value raised its online market share from 5% to 15% within the first year
  • Online traffic and leads increased from a few hundred per day to thousands per day
